March 25, for four consecutive Sundays 6.25 hours each class beginning at
10AM
Part 2 Begins April 29, for four consecutive Sundays, 6.25 hours each
class beginning at 10AM

Plant Identification Terminology
Characteristics of Major Central Texas Plant Families
Latin binomials of Central Texas Native and adapted Medicinal and Edible Plants
Uses of our local native and weedy medicinals
Plant Spirit Medicine and making local plant Flower Essences
Demos and hands on fresh plant tincture making
Ecology and bioregions of Central Texas
Ethics and sustainable harvesting techniques regarding wild plant harvesting
Visit several different examples of wild areas in Central Texas
Meet Sunday Mornings at 10AM at the Blackland Learning Garden in East Austin
across from Keeling Middle School. Class is entirely outdoors, rain or shine
with a couple of optional campouts
Fieldwork
Part 1 classes start
at 10AM end around 4:30PM
Class 1 March 25: Guerrera Park in East Austin
Class 2 April 1: Mckinney Falls in Southeast Austin
Class 3 April 8: Barton Creek Greenbelt Upstream West of Town
Class 4 April 15: Optional Campout at Heron’s nest Herb Farm and Class the
next morning at Pedernales Falls State Park
Part 2 (these are tentative,
dates may change around due to weather)
Class 1 April 29: Red Rock Texas Sand Dunes Field Trip
Class 2 May 6 : TBA
Class 3 May 13 Inks Lake State Park
Class 4 May 20: Bastrop State Park Optional Camp Out

Register now to hold your place. Class closes at 10 registrants. No prerequisites
necessary but a background in Botany is helpful. Classes are held outdoors
and involve beginner to intermediate hiking levels.
